Initiated by the immediate past Zongo minister, Boniface Abubakar Siddique, and approved by the cabinet, the Zongo For Peace And Development Conference themed “Developing our Zongo Communities through Tolerance and Peace” aims to engender and foster peace and unity among residents of Zongo communities.

It is also meant to change the long wrong impression and negative stereotypes that, Zongo communities are violent.

The Zongo For Peace And Development Conference 2019 is scheduled to come off Tuesday, 8 January 2018 at the Georgia Hotel Kumasi.

The President of the Republic, His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, will open the first phase of the conference.

The second phase will see various speakers, who are either scholars of tradition and religion, or respected members of Zongo communities speak on the conference theme.
